We will discuss some false beliefs Muslims have about the Prophet Mohammed and will later show the correct understanding.

According to Ahlul Sunnah (Sunnis), Shi’atul ‘Ali (Shias), and other sects, the Prophet:

1. Muhammad was the best man to have walked on Earth

2. Muhammad had many miracles

3. Muhammad is Allah’s friend

4. Muhammad is the reason Allah created the world

5. Muhammad is the best and highest ranked Messenger

6. Muhammad will have the highest rank in Heaven

7. Muhammad will intercede for his followers on the day of Judgement

8. Muhammad is the best guide

9. Muhammad can hear us and is alive

10. Muhammad is the best means to gain nearness to God (waseelah in Arabic)

Every single one of these beliefs is wrong and contrary to the Quran and authentic narratives.

Muslims have fallen into the same trap like the Jews and Christians have done in regards to extremely exaggerating individual statuses and innovating beliefs which were not part of the original scriptural teachings.

There was nothing supernatural about Rasulullah.  The Quran makes a humbling case for the Prophet, telling him to:

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاء رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا

“Say: I am only a mortal like you (Qul innama ana basharun mithlukum). My Lord inspires in me that your God is only One God. And whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous work, and make none share of the worship due unto his Lord.” (Quran 18:110)

The purpose of sending Mohammed Rasulullah to the people was to proclaim Allah’s oneness and the sole creator.  But sects like Shi’as and Sunnis have distorted the message and turned it into being all about the Prophet Muhammed while neglecting Allah and the Quran.
