Ikhtilaaf is Haraam in Islaam

Authubillaahi min ash-Shaytaani rajeem

Bismillaahi ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem, Allaahumma salay ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala aalay Muhammad kamaa salayta ‘ala aali Ibraaheem innaka Hameedum Majeed.  Allaahumma baraak ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala aalay Muhammad kamaa baraakta ‘ala aali Ibraaheem innaka Hameedum Majeed.

Allaah aza wa jal says [an-Nisaa’ 4:82]:

“Then do they not reflect upon the Quraan? If it had been from other than Allaah, they would have found within it much contradiction (ikhtilaaf)”

There is no Ikhtilaaf in Islaam.

Allaah aza wa jal says [al-Baqara 2:213]:

“But Allaah guided those who believed to the truth about what they had differed (ikhtilaaf) in, by His permission. And Allaah guides whom He wills to a straight path.”

The presence of Ikhtilaaf is proof of Allaah aza wa jal misguiding such people.

Allaah aza wajal says [ash-Shoora 42:10]:

“And in whatsoever you differ (ikhtalaftum), the judgment thereof is with Allaah”

Allaah aza wajal clearly states that all matters are to be referred to Him to end Ikhtilaaf. Since it is impossible to differ over the revelation of Allaah aza wa jal.

Allaah aza wa jal says [an-NaHl 16:64]:

“And We have not revealed to you the Book, except for you to make clear to them that wherein they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe.”

One of the purposes of the Quraan is to end Ikhtilaaf.  When people abandon Islaam, they differ and cannot solve their disputes.  This is what we see today.

In Saheeh al-Bukhaari, ‘Abdullaah bin Mas’oud narrated Rasulullaah (s) said:

“Do not have ikhtilaaf, for nations before you had ikhtilaaf and were destroyed”

This incident occurred when two companions differed over the recitation of the Quraan, even though both recitations were from Allaah. Yet, Rasulullaah  forbade ikhtilaaf all together.

Ironically, many scholars from the so called “Ahl us-Sunnah wal Jama’ah” contradict Allaah aza wa jal and permit ikhtilaaf.  In fact, they even fabricated narrations to Rasulullaah saying differing is a mercy.

Therefore, whoever permits ikhtilaaf in the Deen are in opposition to Allaah aza wa jal and Rasulullaah,  and they have become a taaghout, who makes the Haraam into Halaal.

May Allaah aza wa jal make their graves and the hereafter into fire.  Aameen.
